🚌 ❄️
A few years ago our BOE voted to establish “snow routes” for the severe winters in which our main roads are passable, but our secondary routes are not safe enough for buses. We have never had to use them, but the way this winter is starting off, it is a strong possibility.
What you need to know:
This will always be our last option, it will always come after a delay call is made first as to try and give our state road more time to get the secondary routes cleared.
Student drivers will not be permitted to drive on these days (hence the 2 hour delay call prior)
If you can get your child to the closest pickup/drop off location they can still be transported to and from school via the buses.
If the bus fails to run and you are unable to get them to another location or transport them yourself, you can then call your child’s school and explain that the bus did not run your route. This is not counted as an absence against your child, BUT it is your responsibility as a parent to contact the school and let them know, so that the absence isn’t counted against them.
It will be reported on the state site as “bus info”
and in the call out system and our Facebook page as “snow route”
If you have any other questions, please speak to your child’s bus driver as they have been working very hard to establish these routes or contact Harry Poling our transportation supervisor.
Thank you for your support as we work to find alternatives to battle this winter weather we are having! ❄️ 🚌
