Daniel "Chopper" Evans, Board President

Daniel "Chopper" Evans

Daniel "Chopper" Evans was born in Parsons and attended Tucker County schools and Fairmont State College. He is employed at McClain Printing Co. working in the office and pre-press department. He is also the Youth Pastor at the Parsons Church of God where he hosts a "5th" Quarter get together for the area teens after each home football game. He was instrumental in organizing the Tucker County chapter of Young Life where he is currently the head leader. He enjoys helping the students of reach their full potential and has been involved with sports in Tucker County for most of his life.

"Chopper" has been a member of the Board of Education since 2016. Chopper is the current President of the Board of Education.

I attended Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh and earned my Bacherlors degree in Business Management.   I moved from Pennslyvania in 1998 to Buckhannon, WV,  where I became the store manger for Ames Department Store. I am married to Asa Teter and have two children. Both of my children are Tucker County High School graduates. My daugther, Jordan is a junior at WVU. My son, Devin, is going to attend Pierpont Community and Technical College in the fall. While my children were small,  I also earned an associates degree in Medical Billing and Coding from Anthem College. I have worked for Cortland Acres for the past 8 years in the Physical Therapy Department.

 

 

Kevin White

Kevin White

Kevin White is a lifelong resident of Tucker County and a graduate of Tucker County
High School. He is the production manager at McClain Printing Company, where he has
worked for over thirty-six years. Kevin is the director of the Tucker County HomelandSecurity and Emergency Management and the fire chief of the Parsons Volunteer fire department. He serves on numerous boards throughout the county and was a past Tucker County Board of Education member. Kevin was previously a coach for TuckerCounty schools for many years. He believes strongly in a school system that serves all students and gives them every opportunity available.

Cathy Markham Hebb

Cathy Markham Hebb is a retired teacher who joined the Tucker County Board of Education on July 2, 2018. Mrs. Hebb brings with her 39 years of teaching in public schools in West Virginia, most of them teaching 7th & 8th grade math and Algebra I at Tucker Valley Elementary Middle School. Originally from Silver Creek, NY, she has earned two academic degrees from WVU: a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in elementary education with a specialization in mathematics and later, a Master of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in communication studies. In 2014, Mrs. Hebb was recognized by the Tucker County Chamber of Commerce as the Educator of the Year. She has been honored with many awards throughout her teaching career; most, of which, were a result of nominations from former students.

She and her husband, Jim, live in Parsons and are the parents of two young adults: Clare and Jimmy. Mrs. Hebb’s interests include tutoring, mentoring, performing with the Shinnston Community Band, and researching her family’s ancestry.

Let me introduce myself, my name is Teresa Simmons, and I am running for the Tucker County Board of
Education. “A Positive Voice for the Children, the Parents and the Employees of Tucker County Schools”
I attended school at Mountaineer High School in Davis. Upon graduating, I went to Fairmont Business College.
While in Fairmont, I took classes at Fairmont State College. I have worked for Tucker County Board of
Education for 39 years; sixteen years as a Kindergarten Aide at Thomas Grade School/Davis Thomas
Elementary Middle School and twenty-three years as follows: Secretary at Arch Moore Career Center and
Secretary/Receptionist at the Tucker County Board Office; Superintendent/Executive Secretary, Certification
Clerk, Fingerprinting, and Food Service Director. All those titles were my job. Worked for some very impressive
Superintendents while working at the Tucker County Board Office and they were Dr. Mary Alice Klein, Rick
Hicks, Cynthia Kolsun, and Dr. Eddie Campbell. I have worked in the Tucker County School Systemall my life. I retired from Tucker County Schools in June of 2014.

I have lived in Parsons for 31 years. I am married to Terry Simmons. We have two boys Daniel Helmick who
works for Timberline Utilities and is the Head Coach for Tucker County High School Boys Basketball and
Warren Helmick, who works for Mountaintop Hunt Club. Warren’s wife, Megan Helmick, is a third-grade teacher at Davis Thomas Elementary Middle School. I have four grandchildren: Blake Helmick, Jacey
Helmick, Madelynn Helmick, and Macie Moore. I enjoy camping, motorcycle riding, watching our grandchildren, and shopping.
